About Me

Hello! 👋

I’m Fiona. I’m a UX designer and illustrator from Edinburgh. I have a background in creative arts and have always been curious about design psychology.

In my free time I love getting outdoors and exploring new places, getting to gigs and stand up comedy, and wandering like a tourist in my home city!

Journey into UX 🗺

I’ve travelled into UX via a degree specialising in jewellery design followed by over ten years in retail display. Alongside, I’ve worked on personal projects like running a creative business selling my artwork. This mix of experience has given me in-depth awareness of designing for people’s varying needs, giving attention to both emotional and practical considerations. Whether it’s for the wearer, customer, or viewer, designing for people has always been at the heart of what I do.

To expand on this interest, I enrolled in a one-year immersive UX Design Certification with CareerFoundry, gaining hands-on experience across the entire user-centered design process. After specialising in Frontend Development for Designers, I further developed my skills in user research through a non-profit venture. I then spent three years at Good-Loop, a Tech for Good startup, as Product and UX Design Lead.

Building on this experience, I’m eager to collaborate on innovative projects that can positively impact people’s lives and the world around us
